2006 Washington State Election Results
Progressives now dominate both houses of the legislature with big majorities and can pass legislation over the objections of conservative Democrats in the State Senate. When Progressive Majority opened its doors in Washington State, the Republicans had a 25-24 majority in the State Senate, with several conservative Democrats routinely voting with the Republicans. Today, the Democrats enjoy a 32-17 margin in the State Senate after just two elections.
