Washington 2007 Primary Election Results

After massive gains in the Washington statehouse last year, Progressive Majority has refocused its efforts in Washington to concentrate on local and down-ballot races to make sure a steady crop of progressive candidates are ready to take the reigns when the current progressive state-level officeholders run for higher positions. In Tuesday, August 21st's primary election, we backed 11 candidates who we felt would best champion our shared values and tip the scales toward progressive government at the local level.

We are well on our way to accomplishing these goals, as 10 of our 11 candidates have won their primaries and moved on to the general election this November. This is a stunning victory for Washington state progressives, and for progressives across the country!
