Democratic Diva: Won’t someone PLEASE think of the children??!?

Because you know, nothing says "caring for children" better than underfunding public schools.

Yep, Arizona state senators voted yesterday to divert even more tax money to a tax credit scholarship aimed at sending children to private and parochial schools.

But really, who can afford to do that? Not most middle class families, I can tell you that.

Plunderbund: Kasich’s State of His Mind Speech

Great review over at Plunderbund about Governor Kasich's State of the State speech:

Kasich offered no coherent vision, no optimism, and worse for his own political party, no confidence that Ohio has a bright future with his leadership.  From beginning to end, Kasich’s State of the State failed to achieve anything favorable for his agenda.  And allowing Kasich to “wing it” today was political malpractice by his staff.

Nick Milroy TACKLED in front of capitol

Wednesday, Wisconsin State Representative Nick Milroy climbed out of his office window at the Capitol to hold office hours with constituents in the bitter cold.

What does he get for going above and beyond to fulfill his civic duty?

Apparently, he gets tackled by police trying to simply enter the capitol to get some things from his office.

Watch the video at WISN TV.

We'll keep you updated on this as the story unfolds.

Nick Milroy holds office hours - outside Wisconsin capitol

I remember my professors holding classes outdoors - but my state legislators holding office hours outside?

Here are some highlights from our team:

Get ready to rally

Get your boots on because we're getting ready to rally!

This Saturday, Progressive Majority is joining over 30 other organizations to protest the conservative movement's fierce attacks on middle class American workers.

Simply put: We've had enough.

Join us on Saturday at noon at your state capital to demand conservative lawmakers back down!

Stand with unions!

Conservative attacks on unions and union members are spreading like wildfire across the states.  Ground zero is Wisconsin, where thousands of protestors are storming Madison to demand that conservatives back down – and at least ten more states are facing similar battles.
