Bigotry in Maplewood
Matt Filner, MN State Director on November 02, 2009 8:08 PM
It has gotten ugly in the race for the city council of a small Minnesotan
town outside of St. Paul. Residents awoke a few days ago to find an anonymous flyer taped to their mailboxes accusing current Maplewood City Council candidate James Llanas of being "a non-native of Maplewood" and "supporting gay politicians." James Llanas just so happens to be in very strong position to win and be the first Hispanic and openly gay city councilman in Maplewood. Attached to the flyer were two recommended write-in candidates who are very conservative.

This disgusting flyer has no politics and shows just how desperate some are to keep the status quo.
