Just consider former Progressive Majority candidate and now Ohio State Representative Marian Harris, who is currently fighting against a proposed water and wastewater rate increase that would have a serious impact on the budgets of already suffering Ohioans. This rate increase, requested by Ohio American Water Company, would phase in a 60% cost increase over the next four years!

Marian has introduced HB 344 - a consumer protection bill to put reasonable limits on how much in excess fees water companies can charge customers. In her recent press release, she stated, "We cannot tolerate companies unreasonably raising the cost of basic necessities."

During these tough economic times, we are proud to know that the strong progressive leaders we have helped to elect are protecting their constituents from corporate greed.
