State Representative, District 20
Amy Schwabendlender is running for Arizona House of Representatives in District 20. Amy works for the Valley of the Sun United Way, where she leads the “Plan for Hunger Free Communities in Maricopa County,” the first strategic vision and plan for ending hunger in Phoenix. She leads a permanent supportive housing initiative for the chronically homeless that has housed nearly 500 individuals in three years.
She also expanded Project Connect from Tempe to more than 15,000 families throughout Maricopa County to end and prevent homelessness. Project Connect connects individuals and families who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness with life‐changing services.
Amy serves as the Chair of the Maricopa County Community Services Commission and is on the Board of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits. Because of her good work, Amy received the 2013 Heart in Hand Award from the Arizona Community Action Association.
