Wells Lyons is running for Portland City Council, At-Large. A fifth generation Mainer, Wells was born in Portland. He grew up on a small farm, worked as a janitor at his local church, and mopped floors to save money for college. Wells attended Middlebury College in Vermont, and went on to law school where he won felony trials with the State’s Attorney’s Office while serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Loyola International Law Review. During law school, he also got his start in public service. He worked with the Obama campaign to ensure that no one was unfairly turned away from voting. Wells currently sits on the Maine League of Young Voters’ Steering Committee, is a member of Portland Trails, the Maine Bicycle Coalition and Human Rights Campaign.
